To coordinate, provide and make available desired expertise in the area of Exceptional Student Education to help schools achieve desired priorities in response to needs and disparities identified at the school and classroom levels PK through 12 to achieve district goals.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge of teaching and learning processes, with specialized expertise in transition services from pre-kindergarten through post high school. Knowledge of the program area of responsibility. Knowledge of organization and management theory and practice. Knowledge and understanding of the distinction between line and staff positions and functions within an organization. Knowledge of exceptional education theory and practice. Understands that quality teaching and learning are the essential processes and product of public schools and has the ability to focus human and financial resources toward this end. * Facilitate communication with parents, students and staff resolving problems and critical issues.
* Coordinates activities associated with districtwide initiatives with consistency.
* Provide district leadership through participation in collaborative working groups, including cross-department projects and initiatives.
* Assists instructors and administrators in increasing the effectiveness of standards-based instruction in transition career courses and independent living skills.
* Serves as an advocate for students with disabilities focuses on work readiness skill development.
* Follow the district’s policies and procedures as related to all HRMD guidelines the district’s instructional initiatives.
* Follow the district’s policies and procedures as related to fixed assets.
* Develop leadership in subordinates.
* Responsible for keeping up to date on current technology being used by OCPS. With the support of the district, attend training to ensure skill level in various technologies is at the level required to perform in current position.

The ESE Transition Program Administrator will be involved in PK-12 ESE transition support. This role involves working closely with schools, parents, and community members as we seek meaningful and relevant collaboration with businesses and agencies in support of child find and career exploration. The successful candidate will have experience with instructional planning for career experiences, delivery of professional learning to varied audiences, and the skill to obtain relevant data and analyze the data to be used in schools to improvement and enhance instruction.
