To assist with planning functions within the department for both short-range and long-range planning, school concurrency, capital programs, and coordination with governmental agencies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of Florida state statutes related to growth management as well as local government land development regulations and procedures. General knowledge of facilities planning and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Ability to analyze and synthesize data for use in decision making; demonstrated ability to plan and organize effectively and present information in a concise, understandable manner to targeted audiences.
Ability to work and communicate effectively with people to focus resources (both human and financial) toward the achievement of district identified desired ends/results. Ability to work and communicate with diverse constituencies.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Manifest a professional code of ethics and values.

* Model the routine, intentional and effective use of technology in daily work, including communications, organization, and management tasks.
* Administer Concurrency and Capacity Enhancement programs.
* Assist with long range and short-range planning duties.
* Monitor compliance with Interlocal Agreements.
* Assist in special studies and property research.
* Review applications to local governments for land use, rezoning, subdivision, and other appropriate development proposals to determine school capacity and other school-related issues are addressed.
* Secure land entitlements including Comprehensive Plan Amendments, Rezoning, Special Exceptions/Use Permits, etc. for schools and OCPS facilities.
* Participate in special projects that bring together OCPS departments and/or outside agencies.
* Keep the Director, Planning and the Senior Administrator, Facilities Planning informed of critical issues.
* Follow the district’s policies and procedures as related to all HRMD guidelines and the district’s instructional initiatives.
* Follow the district’s policies and procedures as related to fixed assets.
* Develop leadership in subordinates.
* Responsible for keeping up to date on current technology being used by OCPS. With the support of the district, attend training to ensure skill level in various technologies is at the level required to perform in current position.
* Responsible for maintaining timely and accurate information and accountable for the quality of information maintained by those they supervise.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Non-bargaining unit compensation plan, twelve months, 8.0 hours per day.
