Overview

To provide the O&M Areas with logistics support to accomplish maintenance work within the school district. Maintain efficient procedures and policies for accounting, reporting, purchasing, payroll and payment to vendors.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:



  1. A high school diploma or GED required, Associate’s degree preferred.

  2. Five (5) years of experience in logistics, supply-chain environment, and warehousing working preferably in the field of facility/construction management.

  3. An Associate’s Degree in business, or related field from an accredited institution is preferred.

  4. Must be able to maintain a valid Florida Driver’s License.

  5. The incumbent is considered to be “essential personnel” during an emergency and can be subject to being held over or called back to a district location at all times.



KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to accurately interpret and understand purchase orders, invoices, shipping documents, and other associated processing. Ability to work with various units of measure and perform numerous calculations, and conversions. Ability to maintain accurate records and paperwork. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of and ability to support area warehouse operations including receiving, issuing, storing, and transferring materials. Knowledge of material acquisition and purchase. Knowledge of and ability to perform and analyze a physical inventory on a routine basis. Knowledge of and ability to monitor material distribution and movement. Knowledge of and ability to lead licensed vehicle and equipment “pool” management. Strong organizational skills. Proficient in working with the District business system (SAP) and a wide array of specialized software.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Describes physical conditions of this position.

Note: Will total more than 100 percent as several activities may be performed at one time.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Conditions the worker will be subject to in this position.

Indoors and Outdoors: The worker is subject to both environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Manifest a professional code of ethics and values.

tasks.
* Responsible for the management of all operations within the unit consistent with district priorities and district expected ends/results.
* With and through staff, develop plans and identify expected outcomes/results for each section of the unit.
* Provide direction, oversight, and evaluation of direct reports regarding productivity in achieving expected district priorities and ends results.
* Supervises the initial point of contact for all insurance claims. Ensures needed information is provided to Risk Management in a timely fashion.
* Serves as the point of contact for the provision of materials, equipment, transportation, and specialized items for area logistics coordinators.
* Oversee inventory of fixed assets, materials, attic stock, etc. to include required records and reporting.
* Responsible for coordination of fleet maintenance for the department’s county owned vehicles and equipment. Ensures that all vehicles and equipment are inspected and maintained routinely and are in good working order.
* Ensures departmental procedures are in place and followed.
* Runs weekly departmental budget reports. Ensures all Purchase Orders are paid out in a timely manner. Generates budget transfers as needed.
* Responsible for the implementation, training, monitoring and management of the Purchasing Card Program.
* In close coordination with area logistics coordinators, analyzes deficiencies uncovered in the receipt, issuance, storage, and disbursement processes; makes recommendations for improvement, and establishes the storage levels in and Area Bench stocks based upon usage turnover rates.
* Provides for the training of logistics technicians.
* Resolves resource request issues.
* Assist in development of term service contracts for materials and services.
* Supervises all parts/service warranty transactions.
* Inform and confer with the Senior O&M Supervisor to resolve problems and personnel issues and recommends measures to improve operations.
* Follow the district’s policies and procedures as related to all HRMD guidelines and the district’s instructional initiatives.
* Follow the district’s policies and procedures as related to fixed assets.
* Develop leadership in subordinates.
* Responsible for keeping up to date on current technology being used by OCPS. With the support of the district, attend training to ensure skill level in various technologies is at the level required to perform in current position.
* Responsible for maintaining timely and accurate information and accountable for the quality of information maintained by those they supervise.

* Essential Performance Responsibilities

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Non-bargaining unit compensation plan, twelve months, 8.0 hours per day.

Serve as “essential personnel” during an emergency. Assists with emergency maintenance response measures during major hurricanes for all Maintenance schools/facilities. Ensure all needed information/documentation from FEMA is provided in a timely fashion.

EVALUATION:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of personnel.
