Overview

To provide expertise and support in implementing strategic planning and continuous improvement initiatives, including the development of data visualizations to understand progress toward district goals.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. Master’s degree preferred.
  2. Two (2) years of experience with data analysis from a variety of sources to identify trends and develop reports and presentations.
  3. Two (2) years of educational leadership experience (school administrator experience preferred).
  4. Experience building interactive data visualizations.
  5. Experience in managing or supporting large and complex projects through a variety of organizational and project management tools and systems (e.g., RACI matrices, DARE framework, Smartsheets, SharePoint Lists, Microsoft Planner).


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Demonstrated knowledge of district continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., school improvement plans, school advisory councils), research, and data analysis and reporting. Demonstrated ability to build interactive dashboards that help end users effectively access and use data. Demonstrated experience in the use of computer applications and data visualization software (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker Studio). Demonstrated ability to identify key data sources to meet district informational needs. Demonstrated skill and experience in writing and presenting data and research insights in a variety of formats (e.g., reports, briefs, dashboards) to administrators, teachers, support staff parents, and members of the community. Demonstrated ability to independently plan, execute, and monitor the completion of tasks and projects according to established timelines with minimal supervision. Demonstrated ability to work, communicate, and collaborate effectively with internal and external parties. Demonstrated ability in planning, developing, implementing, and monitoring processes related to all areas of responsibility in compliance with local, state, and federal requirements. Demonstrated ability to thrive in complex and uncertain environments, including adapting to changing priorities and work assignments. Demonstrated ability to facilitate group processes and engage in conflict resolution, planning, and decision-making between school and district leadership to build consensus and develop goals.

MACHINES, TOOLS, EQUIPMENT:
Machines, tools, equipment, electronic devices, vehicles, etc., used in this position. Telephone, Computer, (Personal Computer and Mainframe), Automobile, Copier.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Describes physical conditions of this position.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Conditions the worker will be subject to in this position.

Indoors and Outdoors: The worker is subject to both environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

∗ Support and monitor clear and measurable goals for all relevant areas of responsibility focused on critical needs for improving student achievement and the needed operational support within the district.
∗ Represent the office and district in internal and external presentations, meetings, and conferences.
∗ Build and maintain interactive online reports and dashboards that help internal and external audiences understand the district’s progress toward achieving the key performance indicators and measures of success within the strategic plan.
∗ Collaborate with other organizational units to identify data sources, business rules, and calculation methodologies related to strategic plan metrics.
∗ Develop resources such as infographics, reports, and presentations that share information relevant to job responsibilities with internal and external audiences.
∗ Provide expertise and support to school and district leaders for strategic planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
∗ Manage strategic planning and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure they can be adequately addressed within the time available.
∗ Share information and provide expertise regarding current trends and good practices for strategic planning and school improvement planning.
∗ Manage the submission of all compliance documents related to school improvement plans and school advisory councils in accordance with local, state, and federal requirements.
∗ Support professional learning sessions for school and district leaders to increase understanding and awareness of continuous improvement initiatives and to provide data analysis support.
∗ Ensure that the development and implementation of procedures and processes are produced and in place to meet critical district, state, and federal requirements related to areas of responsibility, and clearly communicate requirements to school and district leaders.
∗ Manage assigned projects, data requests, and projects and maintain timely and accurate information.
∗ Maintain collaborative working relationships with other district divisions and departments (e.g., Information Technology Services, Division of Learning, Human Resources), and external stakeholders to implement data solutions for district and school needs.
∗ Provide job-embedded professional learning through sharing information and providing expertise regarding current trends and best practices in data analysis, reporting, and visualization.
∗ Keep the supervisor and other key people informed of critical issues about which they should be aware.
∗ Follow the district’s policies and procedures as related to all HRMD guidelines and the district’s instructional initiatives.
∗ Follow the district’s policies and procedures as related to fixed assets.
∗ Responsible for keeping up to date on current technology being used by OCPS. With the support of the district, attends training to ensure skill level in various technologies is at the level required to perform in current position.
∗ Responsible for maintaining timely and accurate information and accountable for the quality of information maintained by those they supervise.
∗ Responsible for self-development and keeping up to date on current research, trends and best practices relevant to the area of responsibility.

* Essential Performance Responsibilities

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Non-bargaining unit compensation plan, twelve months, 8.0 hours per day.

EVALUATION:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the board’s policy on evaluation of personnel.
