To support the management of data related to research applications, program evaluations, and outcomes-based contracting.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:



  1. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or any equivalent combination of related education, training, and/or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential job functions. Master’s degree preferred.

  2. Two (2) years of experience working with large-scale student or business systems, which must have been in an analytical capacity. Experience in K-12 education preferred.

  3. Technical knowledge in data analysis and/or data visualization involving the use of query languages or statistical software (e.g., Power BI, SQL, SPSS, R, and/or VBA).



KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Demonstrated knowledge of data management, reporting, and visualization strategies. Demonstrated technical knowledge and experience in the use of query languages, statistical analysis software (e.g., Excel, SQL, SPSS, R, VBA) and data visualization applications (e.g., Power BI, Cognos, Tableau). Demonstrated ability to identify key data sources to meet district informational needs. Demonstrated skill and experience in writing and presenting data in a variety of formats to administrators, teachers, and support staff. Demonstrated ability to independently facilitate and monitor the completion of tasks and projects according to established timelines with minimal supervision. Demonstrated ability to work, communicate, and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrated ability in developing, implementing, and monitoring processes related to all areas of responsibility in compliance with local, state, and federal requirements. Demonstrated ability to adapt to changes in priorities and work assignments.

MACHINES, TOOLS, EQUIPMENT:
Machines, tools, equipment, electronic devices, vehicles, etc., used in this position. Telephone, Computer, (Personal Computer and Mainframe), Automobile, Copier.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Describes physical conditions of this position.

Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated as Light Work.

90 Visual Acuity: The power to see at a level which allows reading of numbers and text, operation of equipment, inspection of machines, etc.

Note: Will total more than 100 percent as several activities may be performed at one time.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Conditions the worker will be subject to in this position.

Indoors and Outdoors: The worker is subject to both environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
∗ Manifest a professional code of ethics and values.
∗ Respond to internal and external stakeholders in a timely, accurate, courteous, and empathetic manner representing OCPS in a positive light.
∗ Model the routine, intentional, and effective use of technology in daily work including communications, organization, and management tasks.
∗ Maintain a level of proficiency with technology applications and statistical software used by the district and required to perform in current position.
∗ Represent the office and district in internal presentations, meetings, and conferences.
∗ Participate in outcomes-based contracting work groups with a focus on identifying and fulfilling data needs.
∗ Support the development of de-identified data sets for use by research applicants.
∗ Coordinate with other staff in the Research, Measurement and Strategy office to develop, maintain, and support the list of available data elements.
∗ Assist the Research department staff with data collection and management related to program evaluations.
∗ Fulfill data requests from school and district leaders and help provide responses for external data inquiries.
∗ Clearly communicate project requirements, including those imposed by district, state, and federal requirements, to district and school leadership teams and provide regular reporting about status of work within area of responsibility.
∗ Document all processes directly related to areas of responsibility as identified by the supervisor(s).
∗ Independently and accurately manage projects, data requests, and projects to accomplish work within area of responsibility.
∗ Maintain collaborative working relationships with other district divisions and departments (e.g., Information Technology Services, Division of Learning, Human Resources), and external stakeholders to implement data solutions for district and school needs.
∗ Develop and work toward measurable goals for all relevant areas of responsibility and provide timely and accurate status updates.
∗ Support the facilitation of job-embedded professional development through sharing information and providing expertise regarding current trends and best practices in data analysis, reporting, and visualization.
∗ Keep the supervisor and other key people informed of critical issues about which they should be aware.
∗ Follow the district’s policies and procedures as related to all HRMD guidelines and the district’s instructional initiatives.
∗ Follow the district’s policies and procedures as related to fixed assets.
∗ Responsible for keeping up to date on current technology being used by OCPS. With the support of the district, attends training to ensure skill level in various technologies is at the level required to perform in current position.
∗ Responsible for maintaining timely and accurate information and accountable for the quality of information maintained by those they supervise.
∗ Responsible for self-development and keeping up to date on current research, trends, and best practices relevant to the area of responsibility.

Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.

* Essential Performance Responsibilities

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Non-bargaining unit compensation plan, twelve months, 8.0 hours per day.

EVALUATION:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the board’s policy on evaluation of personnel.
